My name is Kate Johnson and I am the owner and coach of TulaFit. I am a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, Pregnancy and Postpartum Athleticism Coach and Certified Postnatal Fitness Specialist. I am also a Street Parking Pregnancy & Postpartum Coach and love connecting with thousands of women and moms crushing it in their garages everyday!

My mission is to help empower, educate, and support women as they navigate pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

As an athlete, I was often told to “listen to my body” doing what I’ve always done or that lifting weights would be bad for my baby.  One extreme to the other- with very little middle ground. I was confused, tried to listen to my body the best I could, and kept trying to live up to some standard of a “perfect pregnancy and delivery” that seemed to be so important in books and social media. 

As a result of my own experiences- from planning the perfect birth plan, to having an emergency c-section due to HELLP,  to having incontinence while jumping, diastasis recti, and low back pain- I realized after my second pregnancy, this is not how it was supposed to be just because I had a baby.  These are common issues for many, but they don’t have to be.

I’ve sought out the best in the industry learning from and completing continuing eduction from Fitness Professionals such as Brianna Battles, Haley Shevnar, and Molly Galbraith to partnering with local Women’s Health Physical Therapists in my community and traveling  for weekend long courses by physical therapists such as Antony Lo.

Two babies do not make me an expert. Having a vast array of education, coaching experiences, and a network of professionals to refer to does make me someone who would love to give you the support I wish I had as a teenage athlete, as a young woman, as an expecting mom to be, to a recently postpartum mama trying to figure out how best to integrate fitness back into a new body and life, and to set up for function and long term strength 30 years from now. 

As a society we often think “pregnant, not powerless.” You’re right. We are not powerless. I want to help you continue to be powerful through these chapters but in a way that sets you up for long term success so that you can live the life you want doing all the things that you LOVE. I am here to help YOU meet YOUR goals based on YOUR own unique  considerations.
